It provides comprehensive job search and hiring processes. Districts can do everything except interview in it including virtual, candidate selection. We are currently focusing on advancing the principals teacher selection tools working with groups of principals from 4 districts and will be discussing this at the state principals conference.
There are currently over 125 school disticts and 30,000 teachers in WECAN.
We believe that it is a one-of-a-kind environment. You can't access WECAN as a district with out being a member but you can sign up as a teacher. WECAN isn't designed to pretty but to do what it needs to do. It works well on phone lines which allows it to be used by districts,principals, and teachers at any location.
