Two new online tools have recently gone live on the Competency Model Clearinghouse site within CareerOneStop. These two interactive tools — Build a Competency Model and Build a Career Ladder/Lattice — let strategic partners work together to build, save, and download customized models that identify the competencies and critical developmental experiences individuals need to progress through 21st century careers in specific industries. The enhanced Competency Model tool enables users to customize national industry competency models to reflect specific workforce needs of regional economies.

This site breaks down the competency model for each industry level and career. I think that this is an extremely valuable tool because it allows the job searcher to see what skills/educational levels and training that is expected of him/her prior to working in that particular field.
